DAMR organizes an annual Pitch and Mix session, together with colleagues at WODC and the Directorate General for Migration (Ministry of Justice and Security). In these sessions, academic researchers and policy officers have the opportunity to exchange ideas on research and get to know the important/salient issues in migration in the Netherlands.
DAMR is able to contribute to a workshop, panel or other innovative events organized by young academics on a wide range of issues related to migration, preferably from an interdisciplinary perspective. If you are interested in organizing such an event please find more information here: pdf
The DAMR Fall meeting 2017 invited migration researchers to reflect on the issues of categorization they encounter in their research endeavours – which categories do we as researchers use?
The first part included the panel discussion with researchers from different academic disciplines who have all worked on issues related to agency and subjectivity. It was a very fruitful and insightful dialogue that raised challenges and considerations associated with the concepts of agency and subjectivity within different academic disciplines.
In the course we also encouraged participants to develop new ideas for innovative interdisciplinary research on agency and subjectivity through group work sessions. As a result, the groups came up with interdisciplinary ideas and got the possibility to discuss the feasibility and implementation of these projects.
We believe that the workshop created a space to share ideas, views, and encourage further collaborations.
The Dutch Association for Migration Research & Erasmus University Rotterdam kindly invite you to the DAMR Fall Meeting 2018 titled 'Between incorporation and migration enforcement - integration and post-procedural migration trajectories among (asylum) migrants'
